Team Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Service Manager, for our client in Barnet, to take on day-to-day operational and financial responsibilities for designated service elements, ensuring the holistic and timely assessment of children's needs and the delivery of appropriate services. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership, management, and support to staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, legislation, and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Effectively manage the team, providing a child-centered service in line with regulations and policies.
  • Develop specialist knowledge, acting as a resource for peers and senior colleagues.

Partnership and Service Delivery:

  • Deliver services in collaboration with key stakeholders to meet children's assessed needs holistically.
  • Deal with complex issues creatively, ensuring effective service delivery within designated budgets.

Risk Assessment and Supervision:

  • Assess risk levels and services for users, prioritising high-priority work for child safety.
  • Provide professional supervision to the team.

 

Strategic Development and Representation:

  • Contribute to operational and strategic development demands on the service.
  • Represent the Family Service and Children’s Service at meetings within and outside the Council.

Case Management and Review:

  • Manage and review cases, making decisions about immediate safety and well-being.
  • Chair or participate in reviews and meetings, providing information for effective service delivery.

Financial Management:

  • Plan, control, and monitor income and expenditure within budgetary responsibilities.
  • Identify and report emergent budget pressures, ensuring adherence to financial regulations.

Information Management:

  • Use systems and performance information to improve service delivery.
  • Keep abreast of legislation, acting as a specialist for the department as required.

Promotion of Corporate Parenting and Equality:

  • Promote the role of the council as a corporate parent.
  • Ensure equality of opportunity for users in accessing services.
