Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Social Worker to provide reliable and effective social work help and intervention, ensuring the welfare and development of children. This role involves working closely with children, their families, and other professionals to create a supportive and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in need, ensuring they maintain a reasonable standard of health, development, and parenting. For disabled children, take actions to minimise the effect of their disabilities, allowing them to lead as normal a life as possible.
  • Identify and secure permanence for children unable to live at home within a timescale that meets their needs. Address the needs of looked-after children in line with their care plan or pathway plan, helping them progress and fulfil their potential.
  • Practice effective child-centred methods, ensuring children’s views and wishes are considered in assessments, planning, intervention, and review activities.
  • Provide professional leadership to ensure collaborative efforts among professionals to meet the needs of children in need, including those with child protection plans, privately fostered children, and care leavers.
  • Work with parents and carers to strengthen protective factors and reduce risks to the child’s welfare, building trust and rapport to encourage positive behavioural changes. Pursue alternative arrangements for the child’s upbringing if parental cooperation is not forthcoming.
  • Collaborate with foster carers, special guardians, prospective adopters, and others caring for children to meet their needs, helping them lead a normal life, understand their placement journey, make progress in health, development, and education, and prepare for adulthood.

If you want to make a difference in the lives of children and have the expertise and commitment to excel in this role, we want to hear from you. Apply now and be a part of our clients dedicated team working to create a brighter future for children in need.
