Job Description

Join our Clients’ dedicated Child Health & Disability Team in Cardiff as an experienced Social Worker. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing vital support to children with additional needs and their families. You'll engage in a dynamic work environment, combining remote, agile, and office-based working, while making a significant impact on the wellbeing of vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multi-agency team of professionals to support children with additional needs and their families, using the Signs of Safety approach to guide social work practice.
  • Complete Wellbeing Assessments, conduct child protection inquiries, and develop and review care and support plans to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of systems that ensure the delivery of high-quality services, while providing specialist advice across the wider children’s services team.
  • Attend Child Protection Conferences, Children Looked After Reviews, and court proceedings as required, ensuring comprehensive and accurate representation of the child’s needs.
  • Participate actively in the team duty rota and regular team meetings, demonstrating high-quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • Provide peer support and guidance to newly qualified social workers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Qualifications and Experience

A Degree or Masters in Social Work Diploma in SW (or equivalent).

Experience of working within a Child Health & Disability Team

Experience of working as part of multi-disciplinary team around children
