Job Description

The Independent Conference and Reviewing Officer is tasked with reviewing, monitoring, and ensuring the quality of services provided to children and young people by the local authority and partner agencies. This role aims to guarantee that services meet statutory guidelines, promote child welfare, and actively involve children, young people, and families in decision-making processes.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the Children’s Social Care strategy for child safety and stability.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, agencies, and families for quality assessments and support.
  • Meet children's needs, monitor services, and improve standards in a timely manner
  • Influence social work practice, provide training, and mentorship.
  • Chair reviews and multi-agency meetings related to child cases.
  • Provide professional advice on child safeguarding matters.
  • Contribute to safeguarding training delivery.
  • Support children and families in accessing advocacy services.
