Job Description

Are you an experienced Advanced Case Practitioner looking for a new challenge? Our client in Doncaster has a role where the primary responsibility involves efficiently managing a complex caseload, ensuring compliance with legislative and procedural requirements to secure the best outcomes for the children involved.

The role extends to actively contributing to the development and promotion of best practices within a team of Social Workers. Including, providing support to the Team Manager in operational management tasks, as well as overseeing and assisting less experienced colleagues. At times, the Advanced Case Practitioner is expected to offer oversight and decision-making support to the team, collaborating with the Team Manager on various management aspects.   

 

Duties and Responsibilities:       

  • Manage complex cases involving significant harm or complex needs for children.
  • Conduct timely, procedurally compliant assessments and section 47 enquiries, leading to clear plans addressing identified issues.
  • Function as a competent Social Work practitioner with increased autonomy, taking ownership of case work issues and reporting progress to the Team Manager.
  • Co-work cases with less experienced colleagues, providing teaching, role modelling, and mentoring for skill development.
  • Lead the dissemination of information within the team, promoting consistent good practice.
  • Ensure continuous professional development around emerging research, case law, and policy changes.
  • Act as a consultant within the team on good practice, emerging research, and policy changes.
  • Manage and supervise various roles within the team, promoting employee development.
  • Act as a practice teacher for student social workers within Doncaster Children’s Services Trust.
  • Support the Team Manager in various aspects, including overseeing work allocation and ensuring timely responses to identified risks and needs.
  • Chair meetings related to children at risk or in need, ensuring effective information sharing and planning.
  • Contribute to meaningful engagement with partner agencies in children’s safeguarding.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational developments for excellent practice across Doncaster Children’s Services Trust.
